In Tasmania, a Pre-Registration Inspection (also referred to as 'Rego Check') is required when you:

Transfer to Tasmania a car registered in another state; 

Register a vehicle converted from left-hand to right-hand drive; 

Re-register a vehicle whose previous registration expired or was cancelled more than three months ago; 

Re-register a vehicle that is recorded as repairable write-off
